A quick-thinking store clerk successfully stopped a robbery attempt Using Pepper Spray at a neighborhood convenience store late Tuesday evening.

The incident occurred around 9:30 PM when a masked individual entered the store and approached the counter in an aggressive manner. According to witnesses, the suspect demanded cash and began reaching into his coat, prompting the clerk to take action.

Drawing a small canister of pepper spray from under the counter, the clerk aimed and sprayed the suspect in the face. The would-be robber immediately staggered back, blinded and disoriented, before fleeing the store empty-handed.

Police arrived minutes later and praised the clerk’s calm response. “Non-lethal self-defense tools like pepper spray can be very effective when used properly,” said the responding officer.

The suspect is still at large, but surveillance footage is being reviewed. No injuries were reported, and the clerk was unharmed.
